Georgia (Sakartvelo)

When you’re choosing a trail for yourself and don’t have much experience yet, the options can feel overwhelming - especially in Georgia, where there are so many incredible places to choose from. I wanted something that wasn’t too easy, but also not overly crowded. The Abudelauri Lakes route felt like the right choice.
All my friends were in Batumi, so this one was a solo trip.
Mamuka picked me up early in the morning, and we drove deep into the mountains. The forecast had been changing all week - snow, wind, everything was possible - so I had no idea what we would find. But when we reached the trailhead, it was already clear we got lucky.
Stepping out of the car and seeing that scale for the first time was breathtaking.
I left my main bag in the car and took only the hip belt setup with my GFX and one extra lens: the 20–35mm and 80mm. For the final edits, I used HDR profiles on the RAW files.
